‘Adulting 101’ workshop for youth on Feb. 9

EUGENE – The Oregon State University Extension Service in Lane County is offering a nine-part workshop series titled “Adulting 101” for youth ages 13-18. The program covers topics such as self-defense, budgeting, and career readiness. Adulting 101 will be held on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings from Feb. 9 to March 9 at the OSU Extension Service at 996 Jefferson St. Specific topics include food preservation, kitchen basics, budgeting, and car basics. Participants will also learn about emergency preparedness. There’s a self-defense 101 course at Willamette RMA, along with a career readiness workshop to help prepare for the workforce. The cost to participate is $75, which includes all nine workshops, CPR/First Aid certification, and take-home resources.
