OSAA shakes up conferences for 2026-30

WILSONVILLE – The Oregon School Activities Association approved changes to classifications and league lineups on Monday, Dec. 15. The OSAA executive board and delegate assembly both voted to approve the changes that go into effect for the 2026-30 seasons.

The association will continue to operate with a six-classification system.

Cottage Grove: The Lions are still in the Class 4A-4 Sky Em league, but Elmira and South Umpqua are new additions to the league. The Sky Em League is otherwise unchanged, with no schools leaving.

Thurston, Springfield: The Class 5A2 Midwestern League is transitioning to 6A-5A, The Midwestern hybrid includes Churchill, North Eugene, Thurston, Springfield, but no Ashland, Crater, or Eagle Point. Replacing them are Sheldon (6A), South Eugene (6A), and Willamette (5A).

Creswell, Pleasant Hill: The Class 3A-5 Mountain Valley Conference will include Creswell, La Pine, Pleasant Hill, and Sisters – all stay still in this league. Sweet Home was approved to play down to the Class 3A level from their usual 4A, while Trinity Lutheran was approved to play up from its usual 2A. Both of those teams will be in the Mountain Valley Conference along with the four originally mentioned teams. Elmira and Harrisburg are the two schools that Sweet Home and Trinity Lutheran will be replacing.
