Gary Allen Garman, age 92, of Creswell, passed away at home on November 28, 2025. Gary was born on September 12, 1933, in the Cottage Grove Oregon birth home to John and Cynthia (Peggy) Garman.
He spent his childhood and adult life in the London Valley area, graduating from Cottage Grove High School in 1952.
He served in the Army National Guard, receiving an honorable discharge in 1960.
He drove trucks all his life, chip, lumber, and log truck. He retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1996 and in his retirement, he enjoyed carpentry, wood working and driving his 1948 Chevy, even though he was a die-hard Ford man.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan, his children, Joanie (Mike) Penni, Nick (Konnie), with his former wife, Donna, 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Belva, and his son Marty (Patty).
Following cremation, a small family memorial was held on December 7, 2025.
“Grandpa Prune” was a much loved and will be greatly missed.
Arrangements are in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
