SPRINGFIELD – The City of Springfield has developed a traffic safety video about the rules and recommendations for E-mobility devices.
The City of Springfield has produced an informative and friendly video about the rules and recommendations for E-mobility devices within Springfield and on Willamalane Park & Recreation District parks and paths. We have observed an increase in the use of Electric Mobility Devices, which include any small mobility device powered wholly or partly by an electric motor. This encompasses, but is not limited to, electric bikes, skateboards, scooters, one-wheels, hoverboards, and electric wheelchairs.
The City’s goal is to keep community members informed about the rising use of E-mobility devices and how to stay safe while using them.
“As more community members use e-mobility devices, we wanted to increase awareness about how they should interact with the rest of the traveling public,” said Michael Liebler, Transportation Planning Engineer. “Our goal was to create an engaging video about the rules and recommendations for all types of e-mobility devices that is easy to understand and helps keep our community safe.”
The video provides guidance on the dos and don’ts regarding these devices in Springfield. The City is appreciative of the opportunity to partner with Willamalane Park and Recreation District to also share information about E-mobility in their parks and on their paths within the community. The video is concise and straightforward, presenting the rules and recommendations verbally and visually.
The video is available across all City social media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
