Hateful graffiti spotted, scrubbed in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD – On Friday, Oct. 24, graffiti was discovered near Mill Street and Centennial Boulevard, along with flyers and other materials targeting community members, according to City of Springfield officials.

“There is no place for hate in Springfield. Our community stands united in rejecting racism, bigotry, antisemitism, and all forms of intimidation. We remain committed to fostering a safe, open, and welcoming city for all who live, work, and visit here,” the City stated in a news release.

Springfield Police are investigating the incident, construction crews are removing the graffiti, and City staff are working closely with neighborhood partners to support a coordinated response.
