Lane County Sheriff’s Office: DUII round up

  • On Oct. 3 at about 6:30 p.m., deputies responded to a hit-and-run crash on Wheeler Road in Pleasant Hill, where a vehicle veered off the road, damaging a power pole and several mailboxes. Witnesses reported that the car was driving on its rims. Deputies located the vehicle nearby and identified the driver as Ronald Allen Sprague, 66, of Pleasant Hill. He was arrested on charges of DUII, reckless driving, failing to perform duties of a driver with property damage, and second-degree criminal mischief.
  • Later that evening, around 8 p.m., a deputy observed Sarah Elizabeth Sabado, 50, of Woodburn, texting while driving unsafely at the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Agate Street in Eugene. Signs of impairment led to her arrest for DUII.
  • On Oct. 5 at about 1 a.m., deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Mosby Creek Road east of Cottage Grove. Evidence indicated that the driver, Angus Waylon White, 21, had been driving recklessly prior to the crash, which injured a passenger. White was arrested for reckless driving and reckless endangerment.
  • Around 3 a.m., a deputy stopped Gunner Matthew Hendrix, 22, of Eugene, for speeding over 70 mph on River Road. Noting signs of impairment, Hendrix was arrested for DUII.
  • At about 9 p.m., a deputy in Creswell stopped Matthew Adam Swearingen, 42, for impaired driving and arrested him for DUII. During the same stop, McKenzie Kay Mazurek, 30, also showed signs of impairment and was arrested for DUII.
