Lindsey Black has joined The Chronicle as Sales & Marketing Director, publisher Noel Nash announced Tuesday. Black, who coordinated the 100th anniversary celebration of the Eugene Hotel this past May as the community relations director at the retirement community, moved to the southern Willamette Valley nearly four years ago.
Black is a seasoned professional with a networking and communication background relevant to business development, marketing, and operations. Her experience dealing with small to medium size business owners demonstrates an understanding of customer needs and their values.
“Lindsey joins our team at a crucial time of growth,” Nash said. “Her critical thinking, creativity, and work ethic is what we need right now as we continue to expand in print and on digital platforms.”
Her work in the senior healthcare industry included a year with 5 Star Concierge in Springfield, and was the event coordinator for the Eugene Health & Wellness Expo in 2022 and ’23. Before those roles, she worked as a patient advocate in southern California.
She spent 25 years as a real estate administrator in Los Angeles for Striks Properties before moving to Oregon.
“It’s exciting to help spread the word about hyper-local journalism,” said Black, a Missouri native. “It’s an important time in our country to be in the newspaper business, and I look forward to building relationships with our local business community.”
Since moving to the area, Black has been active throughout the community. She’s been a member of the Emerald Art Center board since 2024. In May, she wrote and received a grant for EAC to Cow Creek Foundation for $3,000, which went toward a summer art camp program.
She also was a committee member for the “Fright at the Museum” haunted house at the Springfield History Museum.
Black was graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, is a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA), and has paralegal certification.
She is married and has a son and “loves being a grandmom!” Reach out to her at [email protected] or call 541-515-6233.
