Bohemia Mining Days has claimed its domain at Coiner Park once again. Thursday through Sunday and always on the third weekend of July, the park transforms into an old-timey town filled with games, music, food, contests, and 100 vendors–a number unheard of for BMD.
The annual festival kicks off with a Miners dinner Thursday night and ends with the classic Miners Breakfast on the Mountain in the Bohemia Mining District. Feud games between Slabtown and Lemati start at 11 a.m. on Friday, with the winner announced at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Enter a costume contest on Friday at 7:30 p.m., or bring your best beard and mustache to a new contest on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Enya Combs and Tara Blount are the coordinators of the highly established kids zone. It has rock painting, coloring, crafts, bouncy houses, and a gold hunt. A variety of kid-friendly vendors offer toys, treats, educational opportunities, and unique family finds.
The centerpiece of BMD – the parade – starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. Grab a spot along the route down 10th St. and Gateway Blvd. to catch candy and prizes.
