SPRINGFIELD – On April 3, two people were staying at Motel 6, located at 3752 International Court in Springfield, when one of them casually met Ashton Isaiah Johnson, 27, of Cottage Grove, while they were hanging out in the parking lot. Johnson had approached them and offered to sell his Oregon Trail Card. The victim declined, according to police.
Later, around 1 a.m. on April 4, the victim and his girlfriend were in their rented room when three men entered and brandished firearms. While holding the two victims at gunpoint, the three men stole property from inside the room before fleeing in a vehicle.
SPD responded and were able to identify Johnson, Daniel Zachary Evans, 25, of Springfield, and James Lance Good, 45, of Springfield. Evidence led to the arrest of all three suspects.
