SPRINGFIELD – PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend has appointed James Roundtree as its new chief operating officer, effective June 2.
He will be part of the Oregon network executive team and focus on day-to-day operations, including surgical services, imaging, lab, and facilities.
Roundtree brings over 20 years of experience. He previously served as the vice president of Surgical and Cardiovascular Services at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas, a designated stroke center. There, he managed over 400 employees, including surgical services and cardiac rehab, and led a $75 million renovation project.
Before his tenure in Fayetteville, Roundtree was the director of perioperative services at Harris Methodist Hospital in Texas and also held positions at St. John Medical Center and the University of Oklahoma Medical Center.
A native of Bartlesville, Okla., Roundtree started his healthcare career as a nurse. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
Roundtree also served in the U.S. Army as a perioperative nurse, enhancing his experience in the medical field.
