I’m running for the Lane Community College Board of Education because I deeply believe in the power of public education to change lives, just as it is changing mine.

As a student at Lane Community College, a senior at McKenzie High School, and a working manager in the restaurant industry, I understand firsthand the challenges our students face: balancing jobs, tuition, and the pursuit of a better future. I’m running to be a champion for working families, students, and our entire community.

If elected, my top priorities are straightforward yet essential: making college affordable, ensuring Lane remains a welcoming place for every student, and strengthening the programs that prepare our local workforce for tomorrow’s economy. We need to reopen our DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Office to support every student fully, expand affordable healthcare access through our student health clinic, and ensure LCC remains focused on its mission: an opportunity for all.

I also serve on LCC’s Bond Oversight Committee, where I help oversee a $125 million budget. I am aware of the responsibility that comes with stewarding public funds. I’m committed to keeping Lane accountable, transparent, and focused on student success.

Lane County is my home. I was born in Norman, Oklahoma, but it’s here in Lane County, along the McKenzie River, that I learned the values of hard work, fairness, and caring for our neighbors. I’ll bring those values to every decision I make.

Our community deserves leadership that listens, that believes in the power of education, and that works every single day to make life better for working people. I am committed to that mission, and I respectfully ask for your vote.

Let’s build a Lane Community College that reflects the best of who we are and gives everyone a real chance at a brighter future.
