■ Leading off: The Bulldogs and the Billies face off in a Mountain Valley Conference doubleheader this Friday. Both teams have struggled in non-league this season and sit tightly with each other in the overall Class 3A rankings. However, the Bulldogs have a slight elevation in the league standings thus far with a higher record. For the Bulldogs, look for pitcher and hitter Colton Hartman, who went 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored last week against Kennedy. Also, pitcher Matthew Jenkins struck out six players last week against Sutherlin. For the Billies, watch Caleb Van Orstrand who recently went 3-for-3 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored against Newport last week. Pitchers Alejandro Ziolkowski, Landon Kelley, and Fisher will hold down the mound.
