Police suspect impairment at Gateway crash

SPRINGFIELD – On April 10 at 6:47 a.m., the Springfield Police Department responded to a report of a traffic crash involving a vehicle that struck a power pole at the intersection of Gateway Street and Postal Way. The initial caller observed the vehicle recklessly driving over a median before the collision.

Officers arrived on the scene to find a white 2015 Chrysler 300. They located the driver, 39-year-old Nichole Taylor, who was transported by medics to an area hospital for injuries.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Taylor’s driving privileges were suspended, and her blood alcohol content (BAC) was recorded at more than 0.50%, nearly seven times the legal limit of 0.08%.

Nichole Taylor now faces multiple charges, including Reckless Driving, Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII), and Driving with a Suspended License.
