Residents OK in Springfield house fire

Eugene Springfield Fire responded to a house fire in the 500 block of 40^th St in Springfield Thursday Morning.  Firefighters were called to the reported fire at 8:45 AM on March 6^th.  Engine 14 arrived to find heavy fire in one side of a duplex with an injured occupant.  The lone occupant was transported with serious injuries related to smoke inhalation and two dogs were found deceased during the search.  There were no other injuries and the cause is under investigation.
