Richard Dean Wordeman, son of William Wordeman and Colleen Moore, was born November 19, 1946 in Gordon, Nebraska and died February 3rd, 2025. Rich died peacefully at his home in Creswell, Oregon at the age of 78.
Rich grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming but also loved spending summers at his grandparents’ ranch outside Valentine, Nebraska. Rich considered himself a cowboy and in his youth, he was known as “The Cheyenne Kid”!
Rich moved to Oregon in 1988 where he met his wife of 33 years. Richard served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He learned the trade of printing and was proud to say he could run a multi-colored Heidelberg press better than anyone. He was also a long-haul truck driver for 12 years.
Rich was a loving father to four children. He believed in giving people second chances and
was a patient teacher and mentor. Richard is survived by his wife, Teresa Nelson; his sister, Jackie Cicollo; his son, Jeff (Lisa) Wordeman; daughters Brianna Wordeman, Jessie (Raymond) Wordeman and Alyssa Wordeman as well as two grandchildren, Jeremiah (Megan) Wordeman and Mattie
Wordeman. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Michael Wordeman and Steve Wordeman.
Richard’s Celebration of Life will be March 4th from 12:00 to 3:00 at his home in Creswell.
