SPRINGFIELD – Chamber Music Amici will hold two classical music performances for all ages next month.
The concerts will be held on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 3 p.m., and Monday, Feb. 17, at 7:30 p.m., at the Wildish Community Theater in Springfield.
The family-friendly program brings together flute, oboe, cello, and piano in a mix of playful, heartfelt, and energetic pieces that highlight the beautiful sounds these instruments create together.
With local musicians, including Eunhye Grace Choi, Jaqueline Cordova-Arrington, Jonas Pologe, Steven Pologe, and Dieter Koch, the performance features a variety of works, from the lively and colorful melodies of Madeleine Dring to the soulful, romantic tones of Max Bruch.
You’ll also hear Joseph Haydn’s light and cheerful London Trio No. 1, which feels like a musical conversation between friends, and Louise Farrenc’s bold and dramatic Trio for Flute, Cello, and Piano. Each piece showcases the unique ways these instruments combine to tell musical stories.
Each performance is an hour long and filled with lively music, making it a perfect introduction to classical music for children. Tickets: Children and accompanying adults at $5 each; adults – $35-$47.
