THURSDAY, JAN. 16

BIPOC Blueprint 2024 from Connect Lane County, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Spark at Booth-Kelly, 303 S. 5th St. STE 150, Springfield. Designed for youth to build community and have fun through conversations, workshops, and activities. Topics include mental health, how to thrive in spaces where you’re the minority, how to live an active and healthy life, and how to deal with microaggressions. Repeats every 4th Thursday of the month. 

FRIDAY, JAN. 17

Small Business Solutions Hub, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Springfield Chamber Depot, 101 S. A Street. Join the Springfield Chamber to talk about disaster preparedness for businesses.

Row River Grange All January Births Party, 6:30-8:30 p.m., 34360 Row River Rd. Come celebrate January birthdays with cake, ice cream, games, and more! If you have a child, friend or family member with a birthday this month, bring them to the party.

SATURDAY, JAN. 18

Community Resource Fair, noon- 3 p.m., The Sparrow and the Serpent Pub, 211 Washington St., Eugene. Local organizations, presenters, and more. All ages. Free.

Winter Puzzle Exchange, 2-4 p.m., 86 Centennial Lp, Eugene. Free puzzle exchange. Please bag your puzzles and note any missing pieces.

TUESDAY, JAN. 21

A3 Information Night, 5:30 p.m., Academy of Arts and Academics, 615 Main St., Springfield. Learn about A3, talk to staff, and take a tour.

Poetry Night, 7:30-9:30 p.m., The Cottage Events Venue, 2915 Row River Rd. Poetry (original or your favorites), music, storytelling and other forms of poetic expression are welcome and encouraged by the supportive audience.

Community Gathering, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Richard E. Wildish Community Theater, 630 Main St., Springfield. Scorpion Creek Ranch is hosting a gathering to raise awareness about its model of place-based care and holistic solutions for vulnerable youth.

Kids’ Tech Time, 1:30-2:30 p.m., Springfield Public Library, 225 5th St. Early release Friday fun exploring tech with Dash and Dot robots, Ozobots, Magna-tiles, and more!

SATURDAY, JAN. 25

Coast Fork Watershed Council English Ivy Pull, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., Chambers Covered Bridge (east entrance, Cottage Grove. A volunteering day for all ages who love nature and want to help restore riverbank health. Tools, gloves, and snacks provided. RSVP to [email protected]

Free Movie: Anything Goes, 9 a.m., The John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts, 868 High St., free movie showing of Anything Goes (1936).

SUNDAY, JAN. 26

Family Swim Day, noon, Splash!, 6100 Thurston Rd., Springfield. Enjoy an afternoon of swimming with your Centennial family and friends. Admission is free for Centennial students and their families. Everyone is welcome to stay for public swim from 1-5 p.m. Free.

TUESDAY, JAN. 28

Science On Tap, 5-7 p.m., Axe and Fiddle Public House, 657 E. Main St., Cottage Grove. Topic: Everything is a Fish. Events begin with informal socializing, trivia, and updates about the watershed and council. The presentation begins at 6 p.m.  The event is free to the public, with a $5 donation suggested.
