I moved to Creswell with my wife, Joanie, in 2017. I quickly grew to appreciate the kind nature of this town when I repeatedly saw the community draw together to help fellow citizens. This has been anything from jump-starting a car to helping install a replacement fence to mowing a lawn for an elderly resident. … the circumstances have varied, but the kind and helpful responses have not. Creswell is indeed “The Friendly City,” and I want to retain that character and embody it in my service.
I work as a systems administrator in information technology and frequently see unintended consequences in software design and computer use. For this reason, I prefer making incremental changes rather than large sweeping ones. You could say I am a tinkerer rather than a revolutionary.
I try to rely on data-driven decision-making whenever it is available. I evaluate sources of information and make tentative conclusions from the best information, which I’ll then use as a base of action. At times, I might be mistaken, and I am open to correction and will take action to correct any measures I might have taken in error. I am committed to a thriving Creswell that is safe and secure enough to continue interacting in kind and friendly ways.
In September 2024, my mother suffered a stroke, and a week later lost her dear husband (my wonderful father) to cancer. She now lives with my wife and me here in Creswell and is recovering steadily. I wanted her to move here because I wholeheartedly believe in the spirit of our community, our good neighborliness, and the prospects of a promising future. I will devote my service to representing you in that spirit. Thank you for your time and attention.
