UNDER CONSTRUCTION
■ Davisson Road, Creswell
Davisson Road will be closed at the railroad crossing near the south intersection with Highway 99 today, Thursday, Oct. 17, until 7 p.m. for routine railroad track maintenance. The alternative route is Highway 99 to Tate Road to Davisson Road.
■ Territorial Highway
Through 7 p.m.. Friday, Oct. 19, At the Intersection with Ferguson Road at milepost 4.3, traffic through the intersection will be controlled by flaggers for paving and striping. Alternate routes not needed.
■ Mill Street, Springfield
Construction on Mill Street began in September and is expected to wrap up by the end of 2025. The street is restricted to one-way traffic between Main Street and Centennial Boulevard. Detours are placed for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. All connecting neighborhood roads are closed off to Mill Street. No parking is allowed along the route. Construction activities include installing wastewater and stormwater pipes, reconstructing sidewalks and driveways, adding ADA-compliant curb ramps, improving street lighting, and adding bike facilities.
■ OR126B at 54th Street, Springfield
The Intersection Safety Project has a higher-than-normal frequency or severity of crashes, so construction is underway for dedicated turn lanes, signals, lighting, an ADA-compliant sidewalk, curbs, and pedestrian crossings. Estimated completion date: Dec. 31. Estimated project cost: $2,225,732. Spent-to-date: $1,686,522.
■ 42nd Street Overlay, Springfield
The 42nd Street Pavement Preservation Project from International Paper to Marcola Road will improve the travel surface of 42nd Street from the south entrance of International Paper to Marcola Road. The project includes pavement overlay, striping, signing, and ADA ramp upgrades. Project completion is estimated in November.
■ Springfield signal enhancements (state highways)
Enhancements are being made to various signals on state highways, and illumination is being added at the intersection of OR126 and 52nd Street for increased safety. Estimated project cost: $2,013,125. Spent-to-date: $1,176,966. Estimated completion date: Dec. 13.
■ South 28th Street dust mitigation, Springfield
The road is being repaved to create a smoother driving surface and extend its useful life. Estimated project cost: $2,715,048. No estimate completion date provided.
■ South 32nd Street at Virginia Avenue, Springfield
Construction is underway for a flashing light crossing with a pedestrian refuge island on the southern leg of the intersection and curb extensions on Virginia Avenue. Estimated project cost: $350,000. No estimate completion date provided.
UPCOMING PROJECTS
■ I-5 from Creswell to California border
National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) fast charging stations will be installed at 50-mile intervals along I-5 between Creswell and the California border to provide electric vehicle drivers with reliable, fast charging along major corridors in Oregon. Estimated project cost through construction: $2,905,000.00. Spent-to-date: $8,562.41. Construction estimated start: 2025.
■ I-5 from Cottage Grove to Martin Creek
Construction is planned to repair this section of I-5, repair deterioration, improve smoothness, and reduce maintenance costs. Estimated project cost through construction: $19,728,432.00. Spent-to-date: $370,755. Construction estimated start: 2025.
