COTTAGE GROVE – Although the votes for the Grove’s potential recall of councilors Alex Dreher, Mike Fleck, and Chalice Savage were collected Tuesday, July 30, the county election’s office noted it may not have the final official results until Aug. 26 at 5 p.m. at the latest.
As of July 30 at 11 a.m., ballot turnout was 27% with 2,100/7,500 ballots having been returned. Most, 62%, of the ballots were received by Lane County Elections via drop box sites, and the remaining 38% were sent via mail.
When comparing voter turnout in this special election to the November 2022 general election, as of July 30, the recall election had garnered about half of the votes that the 2022 election did since it received about 4,000 votes total.
Consistent updates on how each ballot measure is performing in the polls will be available on The Chronicle’s website throughout the month of August and began the evening of July 30.
