COTTAGE GROVE – The first batch of unofficial results for the potential recall of councilors Alex Dreher, Mike Fleck, and Chalice Savage was released last night at 10:15 p.m., and it seems the town’s voters are in favor of a full sweep, recalling the whole trio.
Each councilor received about 62% of voters in favor of their recall, which is so far equating to about 1,550 voters in that majority, according to the unofficial results from July 30 at 10:15 p.m.
Overall ballot turnout for this special election is 37% as of July 31 at 4 p.m. with 2,757 ballots returned and counted so far. The 2022 election in Cottage Grove garnered about 4,000 votes in comparison.
The county election’s office noted it may not have the final official results until Aug. 26 at 5 p.m. at the latest, so all results as of now are unofficial.
The City of Cottage Grove declined to comment today, July 31, prior to a meeting city staff and council members have with city attorney Carrie Connelly at 3 p.m.
More updates on how each ballot measure is performing in the polls will be available on The Chronicle’s website throughout the month of August.
