Russell “Rusty” Allen Williams, 49, of Cottage Grove, Ore. passed away March 1, 2024.
Rusty was born in Eugene, Ore. to parents Michael and Nancy (Simpson) Williams June 11, 1974. He graduated from Cottage Grove High School in 1992 and then attended the College of the Siskiyous where he played baseball. He also played for the Springfield Timbers. He married Jody Wilson in 1994 and they later divorced.
Rusty worked for Springfield Forest Products as a machine operator from 1993-1996, and then worked for Northwest Hardwoods as a machine operator from 1996-2013. He was a fan of the Oregon Ducks, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter Rylee Bottorf of Cottage Grove, Ore.; daughter Bailee Kopachik of Seattle, Wash.; and brother Michael “Mick” Williams of Cottage Grove, Ore. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Shotgun Creek in Marcola. Arrangements are in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
