Charles Franklin Goldspink, 89, of Creswell, Ore. passed away Jan. 5, 2024. Charles was born Sept. 23, 1934 in Fairfax, Okla. to parents Homer and Margaret (Ingraham) Goldspink.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a SR, radio mechanic II, where he earned his Good Conduct Medal and China Service Medal. Charles received his Master’s Degree and taught math, social studies and history. He started his career at West Fir, Ore. and then taught in the Creswell School District for many years, where he also served as school administrator.
Charles enjoyed gardening, playing pinochle and bridge, reading, camping, but most of all spending time with his family. He was a member of the Creswell Church of Christ.
Charles is survived by his wife Jamie, daughter Donna Carter, of Philomath, Ore.; daughter Carla (Gerry) Singleton, of Bozeman, Mont.; son Paul (Lisa) Goldspink; and eight grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his brother Bill Goldspink.
A memorial service will be held March 10 at 2 p.m. at the Creswell Church of Christ. Memorial contributions can be made to Creswell Food for Kids through its website. Arrangements are in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
