Filthy Filberts – The type of ice we actually like

The Filthy Filberts – a Eugene Gender-Inclusive Tournament Hockey Team – held a scrimmage at The Rink Exchange last week. The Filberts are competing in the Las Vegas Women’s Classic later this month. “Learning to play hockey, especially as an adult, can be pretty intimidating,” said co-captain Danielle Walsh. “We have a great co-ed hockey community here in Eugene, but having the opportunity to play with people who share your identities can be really important to help people feel more confident, safe, and welcome. I’m really glad we’re creating that kind of space with the Filthy Filberts.” Above: The Filberts pose together after the scrimmage. Below: Images from the hockey scrimmage.
