Chronicle news service

■ During the week of Nov. 13, members of the  Springfield Police Department worked with loss prevention personnel from the Target store on Gateway Street to address retail theft. During a four-hour period, six people were arrested for stealing items including electronics, clothing, and housewares. None of the people arrested made any attempt to pay for the items they had taken from inside the store.

Most of the individuals were cited to appear in the Springfield Municipal Court to be held accountable for their actions. One of the people arrested for theft also had outstanding arrest warrants and was taken into custody without incident.

Additionally, SPD found an  individual who was in possession of multiple pieces of construction equipment from a local hardware store and had multiple warrants for their arrest.
