Patricia Lynn Daniels, a beloved mother, wife, and friend, passed away on July 28, 2023 at her home in Cottage Grove, Ore. Born on March 16, 1952 in Quincy, Calif., Pat throughout lived a life full of love, generosity, and thoughtfulness.
Pat spent her early years in California, where she graduated from high school. Her youthful spirit and lively demeanor were always a source of joy and inspiration to those around her. Pat was known for her generosity and the love she had for her family, friends, and community. She was a beacon of light, always ready to lend a helping hand, share a comforting word, or cheer someone up with her infectious laughter.
During the Vietnam War, Pat served as a volunteer radio host for the military. Her vibrant voice and uplifting messages were a source of comfort and a reminder of home for those serving overseas. Her work during this time was a testament to her compassionate spirit and her deep sense of patriotism.
Pat was a devoted wife to her late husband Robert Daniels, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Together, they raised five children: Eric, Joseph, Rosemary, Sarah, and Benjamin. She was a loving mother who poured her heart and soul into her family.
Pat’s home was always filled with warmth and laughter, with the aroma of her delicious cooking wafting through the air. She enjoyed teaching her children how to cook and took great pleasure in family dinners and holiday celebrations.
Pat was an avid gardener and took great joy in tending to her plants. Her garden was a reflection of her personality: vibrant, full of life, and meticulously cared for. She had a special place in her heart for the holidays, and her home was always festively decorated, reflecting her joyful spirit and love for family traditions.
A member of the Cottage Grove Calvary Chapel, Pat’s faith was an integral part of her life. She was a pillar of her community, always ready to lend a hand or offer a comforting word. She was known for her unwavering faith, her loving heart, and her readiness to serve others.
Patricia Lynn Daniels was a woman of immense warmth and generosity. Her thoughtful nature and loving heart made her an invaluable part of her family and community. She was a beacon of light in the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her children, her friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her kindness and love.
Patricia is survived by her children: son Eric Daniels of Cottage Grove, Ore.; son Joseph Daniels of Lincoln City, Ore.; daughter Rosemary Gilliland of Creswell, Ore.; daughter Sarah Daniels of Creswell, Ore.; and son Benjamin Daniels of Cottage Grove, Ore., sisters Nancy Tamara and Pamela Meyer, 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Daniels, and brother Greg Rice.
A funeral service was held on Monday, Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel with an interment following at Fir Grove Cemetery. Arrangements in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.
