Creswell: Creswell finished its season with two losses at rival No. 12 Pleasant Hill, ending its season at 5-17 and missing the playoffs. Evan Jenkins led the way against Pleasant Hill, finishing Game One with 3 Ks, 1 hit and 1 run, and Game Two with 1 hit and 1 run.

Pleasant Hill: Pleasant Hill grabbed two wins over rival Creswell, winning 15-2 and 6-3. Caden Richardson had 6 Ks, 2 hits, 1 run and 2 RBIs in Game One. In Game Two Brasen Holliday had 2 hits and 2 runs to lead the way. Looking ahead, Pleasant Hill travels to No. 5 Yamhill-Carlton on Wednesday for the first round of the playoffs. The Billies have a good shot at an upset, and would likely travel to No. 4 Brookings-Harbor on Friday if they win.

Springfield: The Millers closed out their regular season with three losses against No. 2 Thurston, 16-0, 11-0 and 10-0. Springfield finished its season 5-18, missing the postseason. Dylan Leas had 2 Ks and 1 hit in Game Two of the series.

Thurston: Thurston swept rival Springfield last week, finishing its season 24-3, 18-0 in the Midwestern League and on a 23-game win streak. Grady Saunders pitched a no-hitter in five innings with 9 Ks in Game One, Connor Molony had 8 Ks in Game Two, and Collin Hernandez had 7 Ks in Game Three. Moving forward, No. 2 Thurston hosts No. 15 Hood River Valley in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs on Tuesday, with a possible matchup against No. 7 Lebanon on Friday.

Softball

Cottage Grove: The Lions lost their play-in game 14-3 at No. 12 Cascade, ending their season. Emily Pacheco had 6 Ks in the game, while senior Josie Hitt had 2 hits, 1 run and 1 RBI in her final game.

Creswell: After falling in a doubleheader to rival No. 6 Pleasant Hill last Tuesday, Creswell grabbed the No. 16 seed in the postseason, and therefore hosted No. 17 Douglas in the first round of the playoffs. Creswell beat Douglas 10-9 at the beginning of the season, but Douglas took the postseason game 14-4, ending Creswell’s season. Lizabelle Osborn and Hope Ukolov combined for 10 Ks in the loss, and Osborn added 2 hits, 1 run and 2 RBIs.

Pleasant Hill: Pleasant Hill beat No. 16 Creswell in a doubleheader last Tuesday to secure the Mountain Valley Conference title. The Billies won Game One 14-1 thanks to Shyanne Fenley’s 4 hits, 3 runs and 3 RBIs. Game Two was a tight game, with the Billies winning 4-2 behind 11 combined Ks from pitchers Bella Black and Karley Bloxham. Moving forward, Pleasant Hill is the No. 6 team heading into the postseason. If the Billies win their first game on Wednesday, they’d likely face undefeated No. 3 Burns in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Springfield: The Millers lost all three games to rival No. 15 Thurston, finishing their season 1-20. Springfield scored 10 runs in Game One of the series, Reagan Kumle leading the way with 3 hits, 1 run and 3 RBIs.

Thurston: The Colts beat rival Springfield 20-10, 15-0 and 22-0 in their series last week. Bailey Tovey had an impressive Game Three, finishing with 4 hits, 4 runs and 9 RBIs, including two different home runs in the first inning, one of which was a grand slam. Looking ahead, Thurston has a tough matchup on Tuesday night at No. 2 Bend, one of the favorites to win the state title this year. If the Colts pull off the upset, they’d most likely travel to No. 7 Crater on Friday.
