William “Bill” Denny Griffith, age 80, was called home by our Lord on Saturday, March 25, 2023 with his family at his bedside.
Bill was born in Rainelle, W.Va. to Charles and Frances Griffith.
After graduating high school, Bill joined the United States Army, where he served during the Vietnam War. He later married the love of his life, Judy Marcotte, in 1968.
Bill worked as a police officer in Hawthorne, Calif., and retired after 30 years of dedicated service. He later became a deacon at New Hope Baptist Church in Creswell, and was a regional coordinator for the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief.
Bill’s hobbies included woodworking, cooking, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Griffith and Frances Baldwin-Griffith, and his granddaughter, Jasmine.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy Griffith, his daughters Amy Petersen (James), Jennifer Espirito (Dominic), and Victoria St. Sauver (Gus). He has eight grandchildren, Kenneth, Tristen, Anthony, Kiarra, Matthew, Kyle, Kayla, and Kylee, and great grandchildren Keyona, Marlee, Khalil, and has another on the way.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11 a.m., at New Hope Baptist Church in Creswell, Ore.
