SPRINGFIELD — The Planning Commission elected a chair and vice-chair at its January meeting, re-electing Matt Salazar and Grace Bergen as Chair and Vice Chair. The Commission also elected the following members as Liaisons for 2023:
• Commissioner Steven Schmunk: Springfield City Council
• Commissioner Andrew Buck: Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee
• Commissioner Seth Thompson: Community Development Advisory Committee
• Commissioner Bergen: Governance Committee for Development Code Update Project (currently inactive).
A second liaison will be appointed once the two Commission vacancies have been filled.
The Commission extended gratitude to Commissioners Kuri Gill and Michael Koivula, who termed off the Commission, for their volunteer service to the City. Commissioner Koivula completed two terms (eight years), and Commissioner Gill completed one term (four years).
