Boys Basketball

Cottage Grove:
Cottage Grove’s only
game last week was
a 66-46 loss at No. 15
Marist. Junior Gannon
Leach
led the way for
the Lions with 17 points, Brennen Murphy had 9, and Ethan Petersen had 7.
Creswell:
The Bulldogs had a 2-0 week, beating rival No. 9 Pleasant Hill 55-42 and handling No. 11 Santiam Christian 65-27. Tyler Whitson led the way against Pleasant Hill with 17 points and senior AJ Hodge made his return from a knee injury to add 12 points. Hodge had a great game against Santiam as well with 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field. Connor Hanson led the team in scoring against Santiam with 19 points, including 4-of-5 from three.

Pleasant Hill:
The Billies went 1-1 last week, losing to rival No. 6 Creswell 55-42 before beating Elmira 56-28. Gavin Inglish led the way
in both games scoring 18 in the loss to Creswell and dominating against Elmira with 24 points, 10 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4
assists. Landen Melvin
chipped in 8 points and
Matthew Nguyen had 7
in the win at Elmira.

Springfield:
Springfield’s only game
last week was a 72-37
loss at No. 13 Crater.
Isaiah Navarrete and Jackson Babbitt were top performers for
Springfield with 10 points each. Navarrete added 5 rebounds.
Thurston: The Colts
lost 54-39 to No. 11
Ashland. Walker Bonar
led the way for Thurston with 15 points, and Luke Newell finished with 9 points and 8 rebounds


Girls Basketball

Cottage Grove:
The Lions put up a great fight in a 37-28 loss at No. 9 Marist Catholic. Jaylee Lima led the team in scoring with 8 points and Adrianna Glenn, Summer Lebow, and Sienna Wagner all scored 4 points.
Creswell:
Creswell had two tough losses to top-10 teams. The Bulldogs fell to rival No. 6 Pleasant Hill
36-32 and No. 5 Santiam Christian 74-51. Dakota Carson led the way against PH with 20 points on 5-of-7 shooting from
three. Against Santiam, Samairah Quinones had 17 points and 5 rebounds, Kendyl Whitson had 12 points, and Lauren Bailey finished with 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks.

Pleasant Hill:
The Billies went 2-0 last week, beating rival No. 14 Creswell 36-32 and Elmira 41-19. In the Creswell win, Claire Crawford led the Billies with 13 points and Shyanne Fenley chipped in 12. Crawford led the way again in the Elmira win with 9 points, and Cheyenne Green had 7
and Brooke Weimer had 6 points.

Springfield:
Springfield won its only game, beating No. 6 Crater 47-42.
Danaeja Romero-Ah Sam continued her campaign for a second consecutive Class
5A player of the year award. Romero-Ah Sam finished with 20 points, 8 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists to lead the way. JB Robinson added 4 points, 5 assists, and 7 steals.
Thurston:
Thurston’s only game last week was a 54-22 win over Ashland to keep the Colts in contention for the third and final playoff spot in the Midwestern League. The Colts got contributions from multiple players as Bailey Tovey had 20 points and 8 rebounds, Stella Hall had 5 points and 14 rebounds, Addison Nelson had 9 points and 3 assists, and Gaby Montes finished with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals.
