SPRINGFIELD — Hmmm … what kind of party theme makes sense for early February?
“Our team came together and we immediately thought about Mardi Gras,” said Christine Vosters, events and music coordinator at PublicHouse.
“It’s the first time we’re doing this, but we’re very excited. We think it’s going to be a big hit with everybody.”
The weeklong inaugural Bourbon Street Fest begins Monday, Feb. 6. All of the bands will bring some type of jazzy or Louisiana flavor to the stage.
Speaking of flavor, each day will have food and drink specials, including a spin on jambalaya (pasta-laya), and a new donut cart with fresh beignets.
“This will be a new challenge for our food vendors,” Vosters said. “And our Whiskey Lab will certainly be highlighted for this event. It feels like it will be the next best thing to being in New Orleans.”
