Rebecca “Kay” Andrews, 75, of Cottage Grove, Ore. passed away suddenly on Dec. 18, 2022.
Kay was born July 27, 1947 in Eugene, Ore. to parents Elwyn and Beryl (Nickeson) Bamford.
After graduating high school, she married Jamie D. Andrews Oct. 30, 1965 in Junction City, Ore.
Kay was the wife of a career soldier who made the necessary sacrifices for that kind of life. Her husband believes she served alongside him. Kay was an avid card player, great cook, baker, and candy maker. She was a voracious reader and loved music and dancing. She enjoyed hosting great parties, and she had an immense joy for life. She was a devoted wife to her husband Jim, and she loved her daughters fiercely. Kay was kind and generous to all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years Jim Andrews of Cottage Grove; daughter Tracie (Matthew Nenninger) Andrews, of Portland, Ore.; daughter Becky (Ryan Rush) Andrews Rush of Vancouver, Wash.; daughter Jamie Andrews of Happy Valley, Ore.; sister Beryl Schmidt of Eugene; sister Jean Bernard of Spanish Fork, Utah; brother Roger Bamford of Eugene; and brother Butch Bamford of Cheshire, Ore. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
