Pleasant Hill student takes first place

Emily Krauss of Pleasant Hill High School, earned first place in the Creswell VFW Voice of Democracy awards, which included a $300 scholarship. She advanced to the district level, and again won first place and a $500 prize.

Second place winner is Malleah Hill of Willamette High School through Veneta Post 9448, and third place winner Micah Hugo of Marist High School through Springfield Post 3965. These students now advance to the statewide competition.
Middle school Patriot Pen District winners include: First place winner Everett Glock of Eugene Christian School through Eugene Post 293, second place winner Sophie Bonn of Creswell through Creswell Post 4039 and third place winner Isaac Gourley of St. Paul Catholic School through Veneta Post 9448. These students now advance to the statewide competition.
