■ Pleasant Hill Billies: Pleasant Hill went 3-0, beating North Valley 75-35 and Blanchet Catholic 68-47 before beating Umatilla 66-33 on Saturday in the Trail Blazers arena in Portland. Sophomore Gavin Inglish continues to be one of the best performers in Class 3A so far, scoring 24, 32 and 27 points in the three games last week. Head coach Darwin Terry had this to say about the opportunity to play in Portland:
“It’s a very special opportunity for our players to experience playing on an NBA court, use the NBA locker rooms and everything associated with the NBA facilities. It was surreal and it felt like we were in a dream world, and I wanted time to stand still so we could soak it all in. This was about the players and they did just that, they soaked it all in … I told the players to live in the moment, but stay focused on winning the game … I couldn’t be more proud of the team and it brings tears of happiness to witness them live their dreams at the Court of Dreams Showcase on an NBA court.”
■ Springfield Millers: Springfield had a tough week, going 0-2 against two Class 6A top-25 teams. The Millers fell to No. 22 Sheldon 75-30 and No. 7 Grants Pass 56-25.
