A 69-year-old Oakridge man is charged with alleged third degree assault after striking a 9-year-old child with a vehicle near the intersection of South Diamond Street and West 1st Street during a holiday parade in Oakridge Saturday night, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office. Witnesses said Michael Edward Boardrow attempted to drive around the parade at a fast speed, LCSO stated. Boardrow disregarded both police and fire lights before hitting the child, who was handing out candy in the parade. The child was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Eugene man arrested, accused of sexually abusing a minor
A 36-year-old man has been arrested for sexually abusing a child, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation began on Dec. 12 when deputies received information that a child under the age of 12 had disclosed being sexually abused by a man she knew. The suspect was identified as Adam Jason Morgan, of Eugene. During an investigation, deputies learned Morgan had sexually abused the child on multiple occasions. Morgan was arrested and booked into the Lane County Jail for first-degree sex abuse, first-degree sodomy, and first-degree rape.
