Yost injured in accident

CRESWELL – Mary Ellen Yost, who taught music for three decades at Creslane Elementary School and has led the community choir since October 2016, suffered serious injuries in a car accident Friday, Nov. 25, on Dillard Rd.

Yost has been in the ICU at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland since the accident.

Her family has asked for privacy during this time, but wanted to inform the public because of Yost’s familiarity and place in the community.

Those wishing to send cards or letters of support can mail them to Mary Ellen Yost, OHSU 8C,  Room 13, 3181 SW Sam Jackson Park Rd., Portland, OR 97339.

Yost is an enthusiastic reader of The Chronicle, and had a Letter to the Editor published in the Oct. 28 edition that expressed support for hyper-local news and information. She taught music at Creslane from 1971-2001.

The Creswell Community Singers are planning to go ahead with their Dec. 10 performance in front of the fire station in Creswell at 4:15 p.m., with Jacque Robertson directing the singers and their invited guest singers, the Creswell Middle School Choir. The concert is part of the Creswell Winter Lights Event, sponsored by the Creswell Chamber of Commerce.
