Step right up…

CRESWELL — From left: Jen Haynes, Faith Johnson and Brian Haynes of Creswell hand out over 4,000 pieces of candy at their circus-themed nightmare house on Canary Avenue on Monday. This is the fourth year the Haynes family have put on a haunted house since moving to Creswell in 2016. “We do have a lot of fans, and they tell their friends and they tell their friends … it’s just growing every year.” Jen said.  Despite the rainy, chilled weather,this Halloween was their busiest yet.  “It was non-stop people for two or three hours,” she said. The Haynes family hand made all the materials for four weeks prior to the big night and spent three full days setting up the house. “It was well worth the effort,” she said.

In Creswell…

The dreary weather and rain-soaked streets didn’t stop the Haynes family on Canary Avenue from going all-in on their spooky circus-themed house, which took a month to hand-make the circus tent drapes … The Cross family – a witch, a wizard and a dinosaur – took to the streets on Halloween for some good old-fashioned trick-or-treating … Mary Moyer, 92, hands out candy at the Creswell VFW drive-thru event. She’s held nearly every office at the VFW post, and is the oldest Creswell VFW member, she said. 

In Springfield…

At the City of Springfield Hall-O-ween celebration, city staff opened its hallowed halls to young trick-or-treaters. Staff and councilors handed out candy and brought in a magician to entertain little ghosts and goblins.

In Cottage Grove…

The Cottage Grove Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual Halloween Hootenanny, which featured the spooky witches dance … Adeline Baker, 6, poses in her spider costume with two overflowing buckets of candy.
