VOLLEYBALL
■ No. 6 Creswell lost last Tuesday to rival No. 5 Pleasant Hill. In the loss Lizabelle Osborn had 15 kills, 9 digs and 2 blocks, Hope Ukolov had 6 aces and Kimberlee Kelsey 23 assists. The Bulldogs rebounded the next night and swept Sutherlin thanks to Osborn’s 18 kills and 3 aces, Kelsey’s 26 assists and 3 aces and Kendyl Whitson’s 6 kills and 2 blocks. Creswell then traveled to face No. 11 Siuslaw and swept the Vikings. In the game Osborn had 13 kills and 3 blocks, Kelsey had 23 assists and 5 kills, Samairah Quinones had 7 kills and Ashelyn Sharkey had 11 digs.
■ No. 11 Thurston dominated Ashland in straight sets before beating No. 20 Churchill at home.
■ Springfield upset No. 14 North Eugene 3-0 thanks to Kylie Rankins’ 24 digs, Juju Henderson’s 4 kills and 4 blocks, and Sydney Christensen’s 5 kills.
■ Cottage Grove fell to No. 1 Marshfield in straight sets but bounced back on Saturday and beat No. 20 Astoria in a tournament before losing to 3A No. 12 Corbett.
BOYS SOCCER
■ No. 9 Springfield took care of No. 20 Eagle Point 2-1 in its only game last week.
■ Creswell drew with Siuslaw in a scoreless game before hosting Central Linn and having its Monday game against No. 23 Central Linn canceled because of the smoke in the area.
■ Pleasant Hill was upset at Santiam Christian 2-1, and had its game Monday against La Pine canceled due to smoke.
■ Thurston kept its postseason hopes alive with a 2-1 home win against Churchill.
GIRLS SOCCER
■ No. 4 Thurston beat No. 17 Churchill 5-0 to keep its hold on second place in the Midwestern League.
■ No. 6 Springfield blanked No. 16 Eagle Point 5-0 in a big Midwestern League win.
■ No. 9 Pleasant Hill beat Elmira 6-0 thanks to a hat trick from Tressa Geyer and two goals from Dakota Hyland. The Billies were supposed to host La Pine Monday, but the game was canceled due to smoke.
