Swim coach honored for decades of influence

COTTAGE GROVE – On Aug. 13, an estimated 100 former swimmers and family members gather to honor coach Bud Taylor. Swimmers from the past 50 years gather to honor him at the Daugherty Pool, where he worked his way up from a lifeguard to a record-setting swimming coach. Taylor was a renowned coach with an unmatched winning record, and friends said that his impact on swimmers years – even decades later – remains strong.
