Lois P. Riggs, 95, of Cottage Grove, Ore. passed away April 27, 2022 in Medford, Ore., of natural causes. Lois was born in Quinter, Kan., May 4, 1926 to parents Ernest and Myrtle (Goss) Albin.
Lois worked at the Cottage Grove Safeway as a checker for 12 years, and before that she worked at the Portland shipyards during World War II. Lois enjoyed quilting, watching hummingbirds, and being a Cub Scout den mother. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Lois is survived by her daughter Kay L. Harris of Medford; daughter LoAnn McGaughy of Salem, Ore.; son Roy “Dean” Riggs Jr. of Cottage Grove; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Roy D. Higgs Sr.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, May 10 at 2 p.m. at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene. Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
