CRESWELL – On 04/25/22 at around 7:30 P.M., deputies from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of an injured and unconscious male at a residence in Creswell.
Upon arrival deputies discovered that the male had been assaulted and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was transported to an area hospital where he remains in critical condition, according to LCSO officials.
The suspect in the assault, 57-year-old Steven Wages, fled the location prior to police arrival.
Deputies notified surrounding agencies and worked through the night to locate him. Wages was located and taken into custody by police in the Brookings area.
He has been booked into the Lane County Jail on the charges of Attempted Murder, Assault in the First Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
