Daniel J. Stuner, 86, of Cottage Grove passed away Jan. 28, 2022 of natural causes.
Daniel was born Nov. 1, 1935 in Chippewa Falls, Wis., to parents John and Hilda (Vantreese) Stuner. He joined the United States Air Force and served as Airman Second Class.
Daniel married Patricia Foster on Feb. 23, 1957 in Lucerne Valley, Calif. Daniel was a heavy equipment operator for 10 years at Bohemia and 16 years for the Bureau of Land Management. He spent 60 years running heavy equipment.
Daniel liked spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, gardening, exploring old artifacts, building numerous roads, and working on the Row River National Trail. But most of all he loved spending time with his family, and he was a man that loved the Lord. Daniel was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Daniel is survived by his wife Patricia; son Blane and Wendy Stuner of Cottage Grove, Ore.; daughter Karen and Frank Gates of Cottage Grove; son Rodney and Maureen Stuner of Cottage Grove; daughter Sharon Furrer of Cottage Grove; brother Roger Stuner; sister Loretta Weather of Bishop, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by granddaughter Kaitlyn Stuner and sister Thelma Pruett.
