David Michael Perkins, 51, of Cottage Grove, Ore., passed away Nov. 7, 2021. David was born to parents Fred and Sandra (Olson) Perkins on Oct. 21, 1970 in Cottage Grove.
He graduated from Elmira High School in 1988. David attended Oregon Poly Technical Institute and Lane Community College, receiving his associates degree at both schools.
David was a huge Oregon Ducks football fan and enjoyed playing racketball, pickleball, and coaching youth sports. He loved the outdoors spending time camping, fishing, and seeing Oregon’s beautiful lakes and rivers in the summertime.
His greatest joy was spending time with his niece and nephew, Dylan and Morgan. David was a fierce, loyal brother and friend. He was a member of Emerald Fitness Club, and Cottage Grove Faith Center. David was well loved and respected in the community for his kind, gentle and authentic nature.
He is survived by his mother Sandra, and stepdad Dan Davis; brother Tom Perkins of Cottage Grove; nephew Dylan; niece Morgan; and numerous extended families. He is preceded in death by his father Fred Perkins.
A service will be held Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. at the Cottage Grove Faith Center.
He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
Arrangements are in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove.
