Daniel Johnson, 69, of Creswell went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2021.
Even though he spent the majority of his life in Oregon, he was well-known in the Paradise community. Dan was born in Sacramento on Dec. 9, 1951 and moved to Paradise in 1956 when he was 5 years old. He attended Paradise schools and graduated from Paradise High in 1970. He went to Butte College when it first opened in Durham.
Dan married his forever wife, Bonnie Watkins in 1971. They have two children, Tonya Craig (Michael) and Jenifer Tennison (Shane). They have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren with another on the way later this year.
Dan was the second child born to Howard and Florence Johnson. Both Howard and Florence have passed away, but Daniel was blessed to have another mother, Maurine Johnson, who came into his life at the age of 15. He has three brothers and two sisters.
Dan and Bonnie moved their family to Oregon in the early 70s and Dan went to work for the railroad after which he became a diesel mechanic.
Upon retiring, they moved to Creswell where he nursed his beat-up body by hunting, fishing and gardening.
Daniel was a fine athlete for Paradise in the late 1960s and ‘70s. He went to the state wrestling championships in his junior and his senior year and he anchored the defense of a championship football team in his senior year. He was also a fearsome left handed pitcher in little league and Colt league baseball.
Daniel will be missed by many people. He was a huge part of the lives of all who knew him.
