CRESWELL – The school district is encouraging high school students ages 16 and older to apply for summer employment opportunities through the district.
Hired students will help support the middle school and the elementary summer school program, working alongside teachers and mentoring younger students. Job postings can be found at
Monday, June 14 marked the last week of school for Creswell High School, and both seniors and staff celebrated their last few bonding moments with a game of softball.
In a friendly competition of seniors vs. staff, principal Jenny Collins said she scored a run, and “needed oxygen” after running the bases.
Athletic director Brandon Standridge noted that staff member Tyler Hollingsworth pitched a “perfect” first inning, and to preserve that record did not pitch for the rest of the game.
Standridge, a lefty, sent the ball over the right field fence for a home run.
Senior Jackson Velarde flashed his arm strength from right field; Josiah Lee displayed his speed on the basepaths, beating out a throw from shortstop to reach first base, Collins said.
She said “the staff held out with experience and exceptional ball skills for the win in a well-fought game.”
