Obituaries & Tributes

Brother Fred Hulbert Pittman

Fred was born in Olympia, Washington, on November 1, 1945, to Brother Fred and Sister Ruby Pittman. He was second to youngest of six children, Nancy, Kirk, Vonda, Linda, and Duane the youngest. In his youth Fred was active in baseball, worked for his dad cutting and delivering wood, peeled Cascara, and harvested and shucked oysters. He met the love of his life, Amber Begley, in 1963 and then married June 12, 1965. Fred graduated from North Thurston High School, then went on to do many jobs. He built boats, served in the Air and National Guard, and worked as a Longshoreman. Then he opened his own real-estate office, Country Squire Realty in Olympia, Wash.

Fred and Amber had two children, a son Tim and a daughter Jalaine. In November 1976, Fred was baptized into the faith by Bro Dow Overacker. In late 1979 he felt it was God’s will to move. Then in January of 1980, they moved to Tulare, California, where Bro Fred was blessed and called into the ministry. Along with a few others he made a great stand against first-born ministries and the new movement that attempted to destroy the truth. God blessed Bro Fred and Sis Amber spiritually and carnally. He started Pittman Pipe and Supply there in 1985 as he was building Dairies. Fred and his family resided in Tulare until 1991, at which time they moved to Creswell. Bro Fred continued many work and business ventures up until he retired. Bro Fred loved the brethren, loved to have them in his home, baptized many, and preached perfection. Bro Fred and Sis Amber traveled and lived amongst God’s people in many places. They resided in Olympia, Tulare, Hobbs, Eugene, Prosser, and Sacramento. They were close to so many in all these places along with the countless assemblies they visited.

Bro Fred is survived by his wife Amber, sons Tim and Richard, daughters Jalaine and Marcy, granddaughters Erika, Courtney, Sheridan, Kearstin, and Jessica, grandsons Craig, Bailey, Nathan and Joe, great-granddaughter Nora, sister Vonda and her husband Del Zysette of Walterville, Ore., brothers Kirk Pittman of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Duane and his wife Katie Pittman of Tenino, Wash.

Plus all the nieces, nephews, relatives and brethren who are still alive and remain.

Bro Fred, husband, dad, grandfather, and uncle, was always known for his joyful countenance, love of the truth, God’s people, and for his inseparable love for Amber, along with being a devoted caring father and grandfather. He will be missed but not forgotten. His message to all would be keep the faith!
