Roy Wesley Robertson of Creswell, Oregon, passed away peacefully at his home March 7, 2020. He was 73. He was born in Eugene to Wesley and Mary Robertson. He attended Eugene schools, moved to Creswell and graduated from Creswell High School in 1964. Roy participated in several sports and loved music. He turned down a scholarship offer to Eastern Oregon College and joined the U.S. Army Paratroopers instead, training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Roy went on to work in the U.S. Forest Service, then started his own business in the lumber industry. He then went on to work for Foster Poultry Farms from which he retired in 2008.
He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, cooking, and smoking his fish and game. He loved getting together with family and friends, enjoyed weekly poker nights, and was a weekend mechanic.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debra Butterfield Robertson of Creswell; daughters Darcie Robertson Smith, Kellie Robertson; son Wesley Robertson; two grandsons: Kaleb Robertson and Travis Robertson; his sister Florence Robertson Boyer and husband Al of Huntsville, Ala.; and many precious cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 8 at the Creswell VFW Hall located at 111 South 10th St. in Creswell. N95 (medical grade) masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer will be provided in accordance with state and CDC guidelines.
