Irma I. McIntosh of Drain and Cottage Grove, Oregon, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020, at the age of 90. She was born January 22, 1930, in Drain, Oregon, to parents Fred D. and Flora (Hudson) Swearingen.
Irma attended Sunnydale and Drain Schools where she graduated in 1947. She loved playing volleyball and could even spike the ball, although she was only 5’4”. Irma married William W. McIntosh on June 14, 1949, in Drain. They had 57 years of a good marriage. She worked several retail jobs while raising the children. Irma and William took the kids on several camping and fishing trips which they continued doing for many years until William’s passing in 2007.
She is survived by her son Terry (Harriet) McIntosh of Caldwell, Idaho; daughter Sharon (Dean) Yates of Selah, Washington; daughter Judy (Dan) Weigand of Corvallis, Oregon; four grandchildren — Anna (Penn) Peterson, Brad (Chellie) McIntosh, Evan (Heather) Yates and Kristin (Shawn) Templet, and eight great-grandchildren.
