SPRINGFIELD-Last weekend, an estimated 3,000 people attended the seventh annual McKenzie Cider and Craft Beer Festival at the Bob Keefer Center in Springfield. Over 150 varieties of cider and beer were served up sample-sized to libation enthusiasts from Springfield and beyond. Proceeds of the event are slated to benefit Springfield Rotary projects in the community, including Belly-Full – which works to prevent childhood hunger and Gift of Literacy – providing books to elementary school students, and other service projects for the community to be determined throughout the year. Other fun activities included brewing classes, prize raffles, roller derby, gourmet food options, and live entertainment.
