Creswell VFW Post 4039 has elected and installed officers for fiscal year 2019-20. Camren Baker has been elected post commander, Tony Jaques as senior vice commander and Bob Beck as junior vice commander.
Baker said he anticipates continuing the service projects that the Creswell VFW Post has worked on in the past, including: service to local veterans; buddy poppies, memorial services for Veterans Day and Memorial Day; the freeway safety program; cub and boy scouts; Voice of Democracy essay contests; and an increased effort to prevent veteran suicides.
Other post officers are Bryce Watson, quartermaster; Richard Colson, chaplain; Leonard Hecker, judge advocate; Larry Thomas, surgeon; John Fairfield, Al January and Gene Lord, trustees; Steve Shallenberger, adjutant; and Vernon Beard, service officer.
Several post members also have positions on the VFW District 13 staff. Beck has been elected as district senior vice commander, Gene Lord is adjutant and Rick Higgins is chief of staff. District Committee Chairs include Shallenberger, Jaques, Baker, Higgins and Beard.
